Mission: Preserve the past. Sustain the present. Inform the future.
CoCA Archives Project was launched in 2013 as a way to preserve, catalog and share our unique collection of printed materials, slides, video and more gathered over the past four decades. We have conducted a professional assessment of the archives, created a collections care plan, moved the files to a dedicated storage facility and worked to preserve the materials.
First developed in 2016 as part of our 35th anniversary celebration, and with the support of a grant from 4Culture, the CoCA Digital Archive (CDA) now features 20 exhibitions that span our history and illustrate CoCA's influence on the contemporary art world especially here in the Pacific Northwest. We have encouraged volunteers to build a Wikipedia page so that our far reaching community can participate in telling the story of CoCA and we continue to conduct oral histories to fill in missing information.
We look forward to being able to share the over 200 major exhibitions (plus hundreds of other exhibits and events) and the work of almost 3,000 artists CoCA has presented in the past 36 years.
